I found an interesting article today on Create and Share showing statistics and demographics on homeschoolers compared to their private and public school counterparts.
I thought it was interesting that the average homeschooling family has over 3 kids in their homeschool. It also states that over 90% of homeschooling moms and dads have a college education, which means that if they weren’t homeschooling their own kids they would qualify to, at the very least, substitute teach in their local school system.
Homeschoolers scored higher on the SATs with similar test taking demographics as public and private school students. Though homeschooling is a personal choice, and certainly not for everyone, I am happy to see that homeschoolers, on average, are doing well on national testing showing that homeschoolers are doing a good job at educating their children.
Take a look at the statistics. What do you think?
