Classical Conversation has been a blessing to us. So I wanted to share 3 reasons we love Classical Conversations.
1- ALL WE NEED – Though it is a complete curriculum (Foundations requires Language Arts and English on your own however), you can use it as much or as little as you want and still get something out of it. The exposures to the subjects are broad and it is amazing to see the wide variety of topics, subjects, and facts that the kids learn so quickly.
2- ART AND SCIENCE – It covers art and science very thoroughly; two areas that I need a little help at home, as do many homeschool families. Each week the students do a science experiment complete with teamwork and fact-finding but Classical Conversation provides all the supplies as well as the decision on what a good experiment for the age group would be.
In addition, each week the kids learn about art and do an art project such as drawing an abstract or a shading exercise and they learn about the type of art, where it came from, see real examples and then try it themselves. This preparation alone for me would be significant so it is worth it. Especially since my kids are such art lovers. Again, all the art supplies are at Classical Conversations and all the cleanup is there too.
3- FRIENDS – The best part of Classical Conversations for my daughter is the friends she makes. Like many coops, having the chance to interact with other homeschooling kids is a plus. The kids love the friends they make and look forward to their Classical Conversations day. In fact, when there is a break, the kids actually are sad they don’t have school! And for me, I have a chance to socialize with other homeschooling moms and share ideas and make friends. Whether you have a big Classical Conversations group or a small one, you will make good friends and enjoy your CC days!
What are the reasons you love Classical Conversations? I would love to hear them.
