Hello,
I was wondering if you are still using Life of Fred. I have two boys, 8 and 6-1/2 yrs old. We tried a sample chapter today and my 8 yr old loved it . Because he loves to read I had him read it outloud. My 6 yr old math lover seemed just okay with it. What else do you use for math? I would say my kids are both at a 3rd grade math level.
Thanks so much.
Lisa
We love Life of Fred but we do use it as a supplement. My daughter loves Fred and his adventures and even my 3 year old enjoys listening to the stories. The lessons are short and though not a full curriculum at this level, they are very good. I highly recommend them. Thinking about doing a review on my site about them as we are one our 3rd book now. We will likely continue with him. We did Math Mammoth last year for 1st grade and it was very good but we switched to Math U See for this year. We have only done 2 lessons but so far its a hit. I hope it sticks! Thanks for stopping by.
Cute idea. Another good idea is to use dice and let the children throw them and make their own problem. I think your classroom must be fun.
We do that sometimes. She likes the part when she makes her own problems.
