Ever want to throw some chili in the crockpot for later but suddenly realized that you didn’t have any browned ground beef or ground turkey on hand?
With the fall weather blowing in, I had a craving for chili this week and realized I didn’t have any browned ground turkey on hand, which I typically do but was out of.
I didn’t have time to thaw some ground beef and then brown it nor did I have time to run to the store and then brown it. I wanted to get the chili in and then get on with the day’s to-do list, which was very long.
So I made this quick and easy crockpot chili.
Ingredients:
Diced tomatoes (2- 15 oz cans) – with juice
Chili beans (2 -14 oz cans) – do not drain (can use hot beans for hotter chili)
10-15 turkey (or beef) frozen meatballs (Aldi has bags of pre-cooked turkey meatballs)
Garlic powder (to taste)
Chili powder (to taste) – optional
Directions:
Cook meatballs in microwave according to package instructions. Meanwhile, empty diced tomatoes and chili beans into crockpot. Add chili powder and garlic powder to taste.
Once meatballs are cooked, place in blender or food processor and mince. Add minced meat to crockpot. Simmer all day.
Serve with shredded cheese and crackers if desired. Can add cooked macaroni noodles about 30 minutes before serving for pasta extra.
Viola! Quick, meaty chili. It was a hit for the family!
Let me know what you think?
