Are you traveling this holiday season? Or maybe you are traveling this spring or summer. A great way to keep homeschooling going while traveling is to make your vacation fun and educational. We have done this in the past and have truly enjoyed this change to our school.
Making your vacation fun and educational is easier than you may think. Are you visiting a place you have been several times? Be sure to check out the special holiday programs going on and see if something would be great for your family.
Whether you have been somewhere a dozen times or it’s your first time visiting the location, look up the cities website for historical places in the city. You may be pleasantly surprised what the city has to offer. This can be a GREAT way to make your visit educational and fun.
Even if there isn’t much to visit in the city you will be in or near, there is usually something to learn – watch a sport that is specific to the area that you don’t have in your neck of the woods. Go hiking and check out nature’s trees and plants that are specific to the area. These can be good ways to learn something different about the place you are visiting as well.
Making a trip educational and interesting can be a fun way to keep your schooling going with traveling and help your kids and YOU learn something new about the places you are visiting.
What kinds of things do you do to learn something about the places you visit?
