I don’t know about you, but at Christmas time, we seem to read even more books aloud in our house. In addition to the Christmas story from the Bible, we read a LOT of Christmas books, fiction kids books, Bible story books, and anything holiday related. We love to have Advent books included and love the tradition of a new Advent book each year.Today I’m sharing 3 books that we love that might be something you are interested in including in your home this holiday season.
We just loved this book last year and the kids wanted to read it again this year. I have the next book in the Familyman’s Advent series for this year called The Secret of the Snow Village but they wanted to read Cootie McKay first. So we did and then we moved on. If you aren’t familiar with the series, check it out here. We are hooked and plan to add a new one to our collection each year.
We read this last year for the first time and what a touching story. We use this to discuss the true meaning of Christmas – giving and thinking of others. You can get the free Kindle version on Amazon.
This traditional Christmas story is great to discuss the true meaning of Christmas as well. Get a free Kindle version here. We are using the audio version this year from Greathall. You can get a free audiobook of it through December 31, 2013 by joining Homeschool Buyers Co-op (if you aren’t already) and clicking on Freebies and downloading it. The kids are really enjoying listening to this this year. Join here.
