The Winter Olympics are Coming…The Winter Olympics are Coming!!!!
We love the Olympics. I mean, really, who doesn’t? I can remember really getting excited to watch the games as a kid but then…there really wasn’t much choice with 4 channels and 3 of them covering the Olympics, right?
I wanted to instill that excitement in my kids and we started it with the Summer Olympics last year and had a great time. So now it’s time for the Winter Olympics. We had great success and fun with using a lapbook to lapbook through the Summer Olympics so we are gonna try that again. It helped us learn a little about each part of the Olympics as well as the geography of where the Olympics took place and the history of the Olympics themselves, which my daughter really enjoyed (and I learned a little too.)
I pulled together a few resources I found for the upcoming Winter Olympics in case you and your family want to join in the fun. So if lapbooking isn’t for you, maybe a unit study is more your speed or maybe you just want some printables or a live class. Whatever you preference, hopefully you can find something that will work for you to help you and your family make the upcoming Winter Olympics fun and educational for the whole family.
