Funny you should mention maps. I was just remembering something I did with maps with my class. I put up a map of the world and the children were assigned to find out where their ancestors came from. I did mine first placing flags with my name on each country that I knew about, and they came back with their info. What fun we had with that project. That could extend to costumes, flags, holidays, weather,writing, greetings, you name it!
We had a ball.
