Last week was totally crazy. Don’t you just love how crazy summer gets? Seems like time is simply flying by. Avarie has been to camp, the pool is out, and the kids are already complaining about being hot (weren’t we just complaining about the cold :))
So for my Random 5 Friday post I’m going to tell you —
5 Random Things We Love to Do in the Summer
1 – Play in the Sprinkler – The kids love playing in the hose, the sprinkler, the pool. It is fun. I almost always tell them to quit playing in the hose and then i’ll agree to come out and help them fill a bucket with water so that they can fill water guns and then inadvertently spray them. Of course, I plan to and they love it. The screaming sometimes get s little out of hand but they do love it!
2 – Have Water Gun Fights – Water gun fights are a fun way to stay cool on those hot summer days. We fill buckets with water so the kids can fill their guns on their own – or they do it from the pool – and then they shoot the trees or each other and run around and scream. It’s fun to watch!
3 – Slumber Parties – Slumber parties are so fun in the summer. It seems we are always having slumber parties in the summer. Stay overs at friends or official slumber parties are definitely something that is summer fun. This week we have two and my daughter is so excited. She is getting excellent at packing 🙂
4 – Catch Fireflies – My son’s FAVORITE summertime activity this year is catching fireflies. He gets very excited when the fireflies come out and its time to run out and try to catch them. I love watching him run around the yard trying to catch them and then bringing them to me or his dad to show us. Both kids enjoy doing this and i love watching them enjoy the evening time.
5 – Take Family Evening Walks – Our family LOVES evening walks after dinner. One of the great things about summer is that we have more time to take walks in the evening because of the extra daylight. I just love our family walks and look forward to weather when we can do these.
