As a homeschooling mom, I can say that the planner was missing some sections that would be helpful to the stay at home, homeschool mom. There are several sections I would have liked to see and less room for contacts and voicmails (though those are valuable sections.
I LOVED LOVED LOVED the “What I will do…5 before 11” section. This was good. To me, this was the MUST DO TODAY section. I didn’t always get it done before 11 but it was there at the top of the page for me to work on. If I completed this section I considered myself successful in my day and checked the box at the bottom for “Did I do what I said I would do today?” If the “5 before 11” wasn’t completed those uncompleted tasks were moved to the next day’s “5 before 11” section and the day was not considered complete.
I liked the bottom of the page allowed me to log my water intake (something I’m working hard on doing and, amid all this life craziness, I have cut my soda intake during this review time from several per day to 1 a day and increased my water intake from 2 glasses per day to 6-10 per day so— love the water log accountability). Tracking my sleep, exercise, reflection and reading, as well as what I ate, was nice to have on there in one place. This is also some accountability I need.
I used the note section on the 2nd daily page to track the kids work and the babies eating and sleep (these would be nice additions to a homeschooling/stay at home mom planner). I found the appointment section good, but a section for “appointments to make” would be helpful, this went into my “Unfinished Tasks” section.
My “7 Minute Life Connections” section was good to use to remember who I did need to call, like appointments, friends, and playdates. This section was definiately not big enough for me while staying home. The voicemail section was rarely used for voicemails but was used, like I said, for calls to make or return.
The “What I Spent” section was good. We do like to try and track expenditures but I didn’t use it faithfully. The Daily Contacts section is meant to write down who you need to contact or contacted. There are 25 lines for this. I NEVER use 25 lines for that so I wrote miscellaneous things in this section as well as I progressed through using it.
I really liked the preplanning pages like “90 Day Personal Goals” and “Discovering Your Purpose.” These were great pre-planning exercises and were helpful in determining goals and tasks as well as my priorities.
