This month I’m starting to hook up with a great group of blogging women who are going to be highlighting some of the great blogs and posts they find during each month in a series called 5 on the Fifth. I’m looking forward to highlighting some of the great reads I find during the month with all of you and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
Since its fall and we are at the cusp of the cold and flu season, i’m getting prepared for winter sniffles (and some other worse attacks, though praying for nothing more serious). Anyway, as we have moved toward more natural living, I thought this article from Keeper of the Home was good sharing natural ways to prevent and treat colds and the flu. Hope you find something helpful like I did.
Though only October, we are thinking about Fall Activities and will be getting ready for the Holiday season soon. Since we LOVE making a thanksfullness tree every year, I loved the idea of this Thankful Wreath from Meaningful Mama. I think it would be great to get a jump start on this so it can adorn our front door throughout the entire holiday season.
Though the majority of what I will share WILL be a homeschool or parents blog, Michele Shaffer is likely the reason that I blog. That I have continued to blog and has been an inspiration to my blog. I have learned SO much from her blog and, if i were ever in her “neck of the wood” (or frozen tundra) I would LOVE to have coffee with her and tell her in person what an inspiration she has been. And recently she had a post that really touched me so I just HAVE to share it. I hope you find it as inspirational. And i’m sure I will share more from Michelle and her great blogs throughout the course of this fun posting series
I love finding clever ways to repurpose things. Though we use cloth wipes at home, I do tend to get wipes occasionally for one the road and this article is is great from one of my favorite blogs, 123Homeschool4me, about repurposing wipe containers. Makes me want to buy the containers just for the sake of repurposing !!
We love our dog and love that homeschooling means we are home with her all day as well. However, sometimes she gets a little neglected in the hussle and bussle of everyday so I love that I found a great post to make her some good-for-doggie treats from my favorite all natural mama, The Wellness Mama. Looking forward to teaching the kiddos how to make these as well.
Be sure to check other great posts posted through 5 on the Fifth.
