I don’t know about you but I’m a homeschool mom. I just hang out with the kids all day and there is ZERO stress. Do you believe me?
So now you know I’m a little sarcastic from time to time. (insert smily face) It would be nice but we all know that being a homeschool mom comes with its own level of stress.
As a homeschool mama, it is imperative that we find ways to manage out mama stress. We WILL have it so finding useful ways to handle it will give the best results for our family and for us.
Here are some ways that might be helpful in handling that inevitable mama stress.
#1 EXERCISE
One way to manage stress is exercise. Exercise is helpful to our physical, overall health but it is also an extraordinary stress reliever. You don’t have to be a marathon runner to use exercise to manage stress. Any exercise can release those endorphins and reliee stress. Walk around the block, do an exercise video, or head to the gym. Any exercise is beneficial!
#2 TALK IT OUT
Many mamas need to talk it out. They need someone to vent to. If you don’t have a husband that you can vent to then find a friend or another homeschool mama to talk about what’s stressing you out. Sometimes just talking about it can decrease stress. If you need a plan of action then you can talk over a plan with a confidant. This in itself can be a stress-reliever.
#3 DEVOTIONS
Many people find that time with their Bible, in prayer, or in private or group devotions can be a huge stress reliver. Take it to God. Leave it with God. If this is helpful to you, be diligent in giving yourself the time you need with God to help manage your stress. Sometimes just “unloading” all your stressors to God can give you the recharge you need. Don’t be afraid to leave it with God.
I’m certain there are a million ways to destress and manager you stress-load. Find what works for you and don’t be afraid to use it.
What is your best de-stressor?
