Well, I thought I would start back with Random Friday. Why? Because I have some random stuff to share this week.
This last week I was babysitting two kids that are on fall break from the local public school. So we didn’t have our normal school schedule for these two weeks. We didn’t take school completely off but we did take a few days off here and there and make some of the other days pretty light work. It was a good break for the whole family.
We had a fun fall break these two weeks. We did some special stuff, more projects, lots of play time and we were blessed with some great weather to go with it. We went pumpkin picking (thus the picture), had friend over for playing, visited the park, had a picnic lunch, had a dance party, and made a fort out of my entire living room (to name a few of the highlights). And we were definitely blessed with great weather, that’s for sure.
In addition, I got some fall cleaning done, some organizing completed, and a LOT of applesauce canned. I even tried homemade apple butter for the first time and it was a hit! My husband made fried biscuits to go with it (on the request of my 6 year old) and we had a special dessert one night. My picky 6 year old LOVE LOVE LOVE it and has been requesting it every day since. Funny the things he decides he likes.
To culminate the week we are pumpkin carving tonight, doing some Halloween decorating, and watching Back to Future – since we didn’t on Back to Future Day!
It was a great 2 weeks here, but I am looking forward to getting back to our normal schedule next week.
