We are a movie watching family. One of our favorite family things to do in the colder months is make up some popcorn and watch a movie together.
One of the reasons that we like to watch movies together is that, frankly, it is a time where we are all on the same page, doing the same thing, and not running around a mile a minute in 4 different directions. I really like that to be honest. And, of course, we all love the popcorn!
If you are looking for a healthy, quick way to make some microwave popcorn to go with your movie, be sure to check out my post about easy, microwave popcorn. I am planning to make some salt and vinegar popcorn for my oldest daughter and I soon because we really love the salt and vinegar chips so I thought I would give it a try.
This Thanksgiving season, we will be curling up for some good family movies.. If you like to do the same, here is a list of some family movie that might be something you and your family will be interest in.
A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (G) – a classic and always fun to watch
Pocahontas (PG) – this animated Disney tale of Pocohontas is a fun one to watch with the family
Addams Family Values (PG-13) – a little goofy but if you are looking for some light comedy this might be for you
Free Birds (PG) – definitely silly – turkey’s visit the first Thanksgiving to attempt to get turkey’s off the menu
Squanto: A Warrior’s Tale (PG) – this is a great historical fiction tale about the life of Squanto, the man who assisted the Pilgrims after their first Winter in Massachusetts
The Blind Side (PG-13) – though not ALL about Thanksgiving, there is a great Thanksgiving dinner scene which I think it PRICELESS and all busy families today need to watch together and think about and, besides, its a GREAT movie and storyline
Planes, Trains and Automobiles (PG-13) – if you have older kids, this might be for you. It’s not for my family right now but it has some classic actors trying to get home for Thanksgiving
What are some of your favorite Thanksgiving holiday family movies? I would love to hear about them and get them added to our list to watch.
We will be watching several of these on our Amazon Prime account. If you haven’t tried out Amazon Prime, this is a great time of year to do it, they have a free trial and a discount on their annual membership. Check it out here.
