Seen any good movies lately?

We have! This week we had the opportunity to watch the recent “everyone is talking about it” movie, Captive. Have you heard about Captive? It might not sound familiar by the title but it probably will by the storyline. You have probably heard about the movie that is based on the true story of Ashley Smith who was held hostage by an escaped criminal in her own apartment, who used Rick Warren’s The Purpose Driven Life to help move her captor to free her.

If you have the opportunity to check out this movie, you will not be disappointed. From all the hype regarding the movie, I assumed that Ashley Smith had read The Purpose Driven Life and that is why she used it during his time of captivity. However, that was not the case, the story had a twist regarding Ashley’s life that I did not expect from what I heard originally.

The movie was interesting and well made. The character development was good and the actors did a wonderful job at embracing their characters. My husband and I both were glad that we had the chance to see this movie.

About the movie:
