We have had the opportunity to review other Heirloom Audio Production products in the past and we loved them. The Cat of Bubastes did not leave us disappointed. This fun step back into Egyptian history is, once again, a great audio drama the whole family enjoyed.

The 2-CD set from Heirloom Audio Productions is suggested for ages 6 and up. My 7 year old son and 11 year old daughter both really loved the story. The Cat of Bubastes was enjoyable for us all. Though my 3 year old listened to most of it, I would certainly agree that the storyline is obviously for a little older than she.
The audio drama, based on the G.A. Henty novel of the same name, is an adventure of Prince Amuba and his friend Jethro. Both captives and enslaved in Egypt, they find themselves in a predicament, involved in a plot against the family they serve – an Egyptian family of whom they are fond and dedicated. As all G.A. Henty stories, character is confronted and paramount and, in this case, tested, as the duo learns about loyalty, responsibility and courage. In addition to learning about these important character issues, the listener learns about this exciting historical period and sees what life can be like living with strong moral values in place.
Heirloom Audio Productions includes downloadable bonus features with the purchase of their premium buying option of The Cat of Bubastes (and most of their audio drama CDs). The Crew was given access to these bonus features to use. These bonus resources included:
- a study guide
- inspirations verse poster
- MP3 of story
- ebook with colorful graphics
- printable cast poster
- MP3 soundtrack
- Live the Adventures Letter (unlimited access)
- Behind the Scenes Video (with cast and crew)

The inspirations verse poster is a regular bonus resource with Heirloom Audio Productions and one that I think it really nice. The beautiful printable poster is included in the bonus features and includes a wonderful Bible verse, fitting to the storyline. The verse shared in A Cat is very fitting. Front I Chronicles 17:21 is quoted in The Cat of Bubastes and relates to the omnipotence of God that resounds in the story.
O Jehovah, there is non like Thee, neither is there any god besides Thee.” (I Chronicales 17:21)
With over 2 hours of listening excitement and adventure, The Cat of Bubastes is an excellent audio drama to keep the whole family on the edge of their seats.
