Drive Thru History®‘s Dave Stotts is our engaging and entertaining tour guide as we tour with Drive Thru History® – “The Gospels.” The whole family is enjoying this one! Have you heard ofDrive Thru History® ? I mean, it is on the History Channel and other places. But not Drive Thru History® – “The Gospels, the newest DVD collection in theDrive Thru History® series.
Drive Thru History® – “The Gospels” is a boxed DVD set that includes 3 DVD’s, totaling 18 episodes, and an 118-page study guide, which is packaged inside the DVD holder in a very aesthetically pleasing way. The host of Drive Thru History® – “The Gospels” is Dave Stotts, who takes us on a tour of Israel showing the footsteps of Christ. The journey really brings the Bible to life. The episodes are about 30 minutes each and the cinematography is stunning. The places are amazing that are visited and you almost feel like you are moving around Israel with Dave and his vehicle, “Steve McQueen.”

I really was amazed at the beauty in these episodes. The quality is fantastic and the sites to see are amazing. It definitely made me feel like I wanted to go there and see more. Throughout the series we were taken to such amazing places and sites as Bethlehem, Nazareth, the Sea of Galilee and the Herodium, to name a few.
We used this as family time viewing during the review period. But I can see this being a homeschool weekly study as well. You could watch the episode one day and discuss the rest of the week, locating the places visited on maps and looking up corresponding Bible verses and definitely discussing at length with the study guide as your spine.
Here are the episodes included on the 3 DVDs:

We very much enjoyed this series and would LOVE to watch others. It made a wonderful family-time viewing but I definitely think I would consider this for a family or homeschool Bible study in the future. I think it would be a great way to incorporate Bible study into the THIS IS REAL realm. When the kids see the pictures of these structures built by the people they have learned about in the Bible the Bible takes on a more “real” side for them. I saw the excitement when the kids heard the names they recognized from the Bible.
For me and my husband, well, we have never had the opportunity to travel to the Holy Land and being able to see it in this manner was amazing. It’s probably the only way we will ever see it so being able to “drive thru” and see they amazing places was an experience we loved.
I definitely recommend Drive Thru History® – “The Gospels.” You will not be disappointed in the content or the quality of this awesome product.
