Study skills are so important for success so I was happy to review Level 2: Elementary (2/3-4/5) and Level 3 (5/6-10/11) from Victus Study Skills System.
Overview
Developed by professional educators, Victus Study Skills System takes a systematic approach to studying. The program teaches the student a way of thinking about how to study. This helps the students learn how to approach materials in a way that can help them study any topic they are studying.

The Products
The Victus Study Skills program is made for all ages, from 5 to college. It helps students of all ages learn to understand what good study skills are and how to build on them to develop lifelong learning skills
The Teachers Edition is the primarily product which includes philosophies and concepts to help the teacher understand the study system. The lessons are complete but concise for each of the three foundational cornerstones. The course can be taught in five one-hour sessions; however, reinforcement of principles learned into actual subject materials is recommended in order to practically learn the concepts.
With the Victus Study Skills System, students can become motivated to improve existing study habits and learn new ones!

Using the Products
My 9 year old used the Elementary Level 2: Elementary (2/3-4/5).
This was a good level for him and he was able to work through it well. We were not surprised to learn that his primarily learning style is Auditory and he actually did a good job setting study and learning goals at the beginning of the course.
My older daughter, age 14, worked through the Level 3 (5/6-10/11) Victus Study Skills course. She found it helpful to identify areas of better understanding in her study skills as well. Identifying areas of focus for her was very helpful and she began implementing her newfound study skills and working on her goals right away.
I LOVED the Student Planner that coincides with the Victus Study System. We have been looking for a great planner for my 14 year old to use for her school work and this fits the bill.
I’m pretty choosy planners too so it was exciting to see that there was enough room to write, dates were fillable to customize, and there was great color and easy of use with the planner.
Overall
Overall we think its a great program. Having the opportunity to look through the teachers manuals and student workbooks for all levels was helpful and showed how the concepts were developed over time.
The only feedback I have is that the workbook for Level 3 was a little unclear on how to fill out some of the pages and it was confusing to my daughter. When i stepped in to explain the directions for a section, I even thought it was a little abstract in the setup and we had to make just an educated guess on what the author was looking for. But overall, the program was great. My kids loved learning how best to study, plan and set goals. I loved that they are setting goals academically. Great course!
