We like to mix up our studies by including something different from time time like a Unit Studies: (K-6) from Homeschool Completethat we recently had the opportunity to review.

What We Thought
We had a great time with the Unit Studies we received from Homeschool Complete – Ants, US Symbols, and John Adams. The lessons were laid out very well. Each lesson includes an introduction to the lesson, Teacher Procedures, which explains how to introduce the skills and lessons included, a Skills List, a Materials List, a Calendar to fill out, a Hundreds Chart, Spelling Squares, Place Value Board, Base Ten Pieces template, Literature List, full lessons pans for 4 days of study, and separate student workbook pages.
I really liked that you could go straight to the student workbook sections. These were the pages that I printed and the rest I could read electronically, which saved on printing costs. Workbook section included exercises such as cursive practice, math problems, reading comprehension, vocabulary, writing, and grammar.
The plans are based on a 4 days work week with a 5th free day for additional activities but it could easily be adapted to whatever schedule you wish to follow.
I liked that I was able to easily ensure we had all the materials ahead of time but looking at the Materials List, which was also broken down by general and by day, that way I could ensure I had what we needed before each day started.
A variety of activities are included with each lessons which allow you to pick and choose the activities that work the best with your child’s learning style. Additionally, the Literature lists that are included with the Unit Studies are incorporated in to the studies to enrich your unit study.
Overall, we really enjoyed the Homeschool Complete Unit Studies. They were very easy to use and a great way to mix up our normal schedule. We started with John Adams because my son really has an interest in history. He really enjoyed learning more about John Adams in a different way.
