At times, homeschool science can seem intimidating for moms to teach but Supercharged Science makes it easy with their fun e-Science Homeschool Science Curriculum. You will totally love it!
We will receive a full year of access to e-Science Homeschool Science Curriculum for all levels, K-12.
What is Supercharged Science?
Supercharged Science was founded by Aurora Lipper, former NASA scientist and mechanical engineer. She thought that there was a lack of basic science foundation in students and wanted to instill a love of science among her students. And so Supercharged Science was founded.
How Does Supercharged Science Work?
Supercharged Science is an online subscription program intended to provide a strong science foundation as well as motivate your student to LOVE SCIENCE! With over a thousand videos in their library and hundreds of hands-on experiment idea, Supercharged Science is a homeschool science must have! The curriculum is self-guided and self-paced. It can be used to fit basically any homeschool science need.
The science material is arranged by topic – astronomy, chemistry, etc. Within each topic, there are videos, experiments ideas, and reading assignments. There are even questions (yes, the answers are provided) to help you quiz your student or have a good question for a discussion.

There is also an icon for Grade Level provided. Therefore, if you wish to just go to your student’s grade and have Supercharged Science tell you what is a good idea to study, you can do that too. Instead of focusing on one or two science topics, the student is exposed to a variety of topics and activities for their grade level. That means instead of studying Biology for your 7th-grade year and astronomy for your 8th-grade year etc, you will be exposed to a variety of science each year.
The Supercharged Science e-Science curriculum is all about hands-on experiments. What’s great is that most of the experiments require things you have around the house or can access easily so you don’t have to worry about not being able to do an experiment because you can’t find the materials needed. Also, they are written for the student to work on his/her own as the student gets older. I like that they can take charge and work through experiments.
The curriculum takes a creation-neutral perspective that can be easily used by families with a secular or religious viewpoint.
Science Journal
Supercharged Science is very much about the Science Journal. Aurora goes to great pains to explain the importance of a science journal, its purpose, and how to set it up. Each of the kids got their science journals started. Though they aren’t loving writing in them yet, I’m hoping having them on the ready and reminding them to document something will help them start doing it. I look forward to seeing what our science journals looks like at the end of the year.
What We Loved!
I loved that we were able to take a topic that my kids were interested in and find a science lesson it and get going. The kids LOVE to do experiment and skip the lessons. What kid doesn’t really? But having something to do and then talk about it makes the e-Science program great.
For instance, my son wanted to build a catapult, so he did and then we talk about it and did some lessons on gravity and kinetic energy. TOTALLY FUN and we learned something.
My oldest loves chemistry so we did some chemistry, which she was totally able to do on her own, which is also great. And she helped the littles work on projects. My youngest is loving animals right now so….we did animal stuff and were able to do some learning about them in the e-Science course.

It was great to be able to go with what they were interested in while still learning.
I also really loved Supercharged Science’s 10 Rules for Fixing Anything — I LOVE IT and we totally have it hanging on our wall. It’s great for science projects when they don’t work, which does happen and can be frustrating but, frankly, it applies to all kinds of things. Their “How to Use the Universal Troubleshooting Process (UTP)” is great!
- Positive Attitude
- Write Down The Symptoms
- Make A Damage Control Plan
- Reproduce The Problem
- Do appropriate General Maintenance
- Find The Cause
- Fix it
- Test
- Celebrate!
- Prevent Future Occurrences
We have used Supercharged Science in the past and loved it. They have fun summer school e-science camp set up that you can try and if you get on the mailing list, they send free live course announcements all the time. That is actually how we first tried out Supercharged Science. You can read an older review of Supercharged Science here and here.
