Does dad participate in your homeschool? Does he play an active role? Each dad, as the leader of the household, is more than just the school principal. Getting dad involved in your homeschool is important and can provide some wonderful benefits. And getting him involved can be easier than you may have realized.
This week we will be discussing five ways to get dad involved in your homeschool. If you are a dad, or mom, wondering how to become more engaged in your homeschool, you may find one or more of these articles helpful. At the very least, I hope you find at least a hint or two to help get dad a little more active in the education of your children.
Here are the topics we will be covering this week. I hope you enjoy them and will share any comments or suggestions that have worked in your homeschool to get and keep dad involved.
Monday – Have Dad Play an Educational Game or Review and Drill
Tuesday – Have Dad Teach a Subject or Two
Wednesday – Have Dad be the Memory Master
Thursday – Have Dad Lead the Family Read-Alouds
Friday – Have Dad Lead the Family Bible Study
I certainly hope you enjoy the series. Please feel free to comment and share your experiences. And don’t forget to check out the other Schoolhouse Review Crew posts.

My husband doesn’t act as principal, because we don’t want to create an environment where were take the kids out of school only to recreate it in our home. We and I share the responsibility for discipline and making sure everything is working well. There isn’t much he can do from the office and if I let all of that “stuff” for him I seem too permissive and he seems to mean. ANYHOW…my husband absolutely is involved. He teaches history, geography and science to the teenagers in the evenings. He attends a few field trips with us every year as well. We’re 13 years in and he’s been very involved throughout the whole journey.

That is great that he is able to teach these subjects in the evening. I think that is one of the best things about homeschooling – making our own schedule to include dad whenever that might be. Thanks for the share and stopping by.
