Can you believe it’s almost time for the Easter Bunny to come hop-hop-hopping on by your house? I can’t! And I’ll tell you what else….I’m not ready.
The Easter dresses are bought for church (though I am in need of some new shoes for the little one) and the menu is planned but….Easter baskets? Not quite ready there.
Here are the Top 10 Easter Basket gift ideas for boys and girls that I’m toying with. Maybe this will help you decide if you are in the same situation as I am and still planning for Easter.
#1 – Sidewalk chalk – I love putting Sidewalk Chalk in Easter baskets because it’s spring and we are ready to head out to use it again. This is usually a good way for me to replenish our stash of sidewalk chalk. Here’s to praying the weather is great and they can run right outside and use it on Easter Sunday!
#2 – Silly Putty – Do you remember Silly Putty? I loved it. Of course, our favorite past time was copying the newspaper print onto it but since no one has newspapers anymore that might not be as likely but i’m sure we can find something fun to do with it. Like make bubbles and pop them. That always annoyed my parents!
#3 – Books – I always include at least one new book. Here are some fun titles with an Easter theme that might be fun to include: Happy Easter, Mouse! (If You Give…), Pinkalicious: Eggstraordinary Easter, Mater and the Easter Buggy, Miracle Man: The Story of Jesus, and, of course, Easter Eggstravaganza Mad Libs would be fun.
#4 – Bubbles – We love to include Bubbles in our Easter baskets too. Again, hoping for weather appropriate for immediate use. Thinking about this fun Bubble Gun for my son.
#5 – Bubble bath and Bath Crayons – Along the same lines, I love to include Bubble Bath in the Easter baskets. This is fun because it’s usually a fun extra that we get as gifts. So the kids get excited when they get bath extras. This year I am thinking about Bathtub Crayons as well. My youngest hasn’t used those yet and might find those fun.
#6 – Rain Gear – I’m considering rain gear for my son this year in his Easter basket. He has wanted new Camo Rain Boot and has his eye on this Umbrella so I’m thinking that might be a fun theme.
#7 – Terranium – I’m also considering some mini Terrariums for the kids. They love growing things and spring is a great time. I’m thinking it might be fun to give them a Magnifying Glass, a Flashlight and a terrarium to have a little discovery in nature theme. Or this Fairy Garden might be fun too.
#8 – Play-Doh – My little one LOVES Play-Doh, and so do the others, even when they don’t want to admit it. I have put that in an Easter basket many years. Considering some new this year too.
#9 – Art supplies – My girls love art! My son – well, he can take it or leave it. But I’m thinking art supplies might be fun this year. I’m considering this art set for my older daughter and maybe the Do A Dot Shimmer Markers for her and considering Color Wonder for the little ones and some fun Finger Paints.
#10 – Chocolate Bunny – Well, I do NOT like giving candy. We try so hard to limit sugars and keep the candy to a minimum but…no Easter Basket is complete without a Chocolate Bunny. So I will be getting a small bunny for each of them. That will be the only candy in the basket and they have to eat it after Sunday dinner and only some of it. It usually take a week to get through it.
Hope this has helped you decide what to put in your Easter baskets. I’ll keep you posted how ours turn out.
